The meeting of the Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) of Asansol Division was held today in the Chanakya Meeting Hall of the DRM Office under the chairmanship of Shri Pravin Kumar Prem, Additional Divisional Railway Manager.
At the outset, Shri Marshall A. Silva, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Asansol and Secretary, DRUCC, welcomed the members and presented an overview of the Division’s achievements, including augmentation of passenger amenities, improved station illumination, commissioning of new Foot Over Bridges, platform upgrades and extensive track renewal works undertaken during the current financial year.
Addressing the meeting, Shri Pravin Kumar Prem stated that the Railways and DRUCC work collectively with the shared objective of enhancing passenger services and strengthening railway infrastructure. He expressed gratitude for the valuable inputs received from members and reiterated that DRUCC serves as a key interface between passengers and the railway administration.
Seven members of the committee attended the meeting: Shri Bishwadeb Bhattacharjee, Shri John Milton, Shri Harsh Vardhan Khaitan, Shri Radhaballav Chatterjee,Shri Prince Singhal, Shri Ashutosh Mukherjee and Shri Avinaba Mukherjee.
Members actively participated in discussions and expressed satisfaction over the initiatives of Asansol Division. Suggestions were received on train services, punctuality, stoppages, station cleanliness, circulating area improvements, ticketing facilities, passenger convenience and security arrangements. These were duly noted for further examination and action. Proposals for new train services on demand-based routes were also deliberated for feasibility assessment and onward submission to Zonal Headquarters and the Railway Board, wherever applicable.
Queries related to platform shelters, drinking water arrangements, escalator and waiting room maintenance, and last-mile connectivity were addressed by the ADRM and concerned branch officers.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from Shri Pravin Kumar Prem, acknowledging the constructive feedback and active involvement of all DRUCC members.
