Asansol, 04 February 2026:

In a significant step towards strengthening workplace safety and fostering a dignified, inclusive and gender-sensitive work environment, Asansol Division of Eastern Railway has inaugurated and implemented the SHE Sexual Harassment Electronic Mobile Application, a digital initiative developed by Asansol Division for the benefit of women employees.

The SHE Mobile App, developed by Asansol Division under the directions of the Ministry of Railways, is a dedicated, secure and user-friendly digital platform designed for confidential, transparent and time-bound redressal of complaints related to sexual harassment at the workplace. The application enables women employees to lodge complaints electronically, track the progress of cases in real time and access institutional support through a robust digital mechanism, thereby ensuring trust, confidentiality and accountability.

To ensure effective implementation and widespread adoption, Asansol Division conducted structured awareness programmes across offices, depots and railway establishments. Employees were sensitized on the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act, 2013, and were provided hands-on guidance on registration and usage of the SHE Mobile App. Interactive sessions, live demonstrations and awareness displays were organized to enhance understanding and encourage confident usage.

The inauguration and awareness programme was held in the presence of senior divisional leadership. Shri Sangrah Maurya, Divisional Railway Manager, Asansol, formally inaugurated the SHE Mobile Application, marking its official rollout across the division. The programme was also attended by Shri Pravin Kumar Prem, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Asansol, Ms. Bubble Yadav, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, Asansol, along with the Assistant Personnel Officer, and Dr Rajani Sinha, Senior Divisional Medical Officer, Health and Family Welfare, Asansol.

Senior officers emphasized that the division-developed SHE Mobile App reflects Asansol Division’s proactive commitment to women safety, dignity and empowerment at the workplace. Women employees were encouraged to utilize the platform without hesitation and were assured of strict confidentiality and prompt redressal in accordance with prescribed procedures.

Through such progressive and technology-driven initiatives, Asansol Division continues to emerge as a frontrunner in employee welfare, digital innovation and workplace safety within Indian Railways.
