भारतीय रेलवे द्वारा रेलवे ट्रैक में उन समस्याओं को दूर करके ट्रेन यात्रा को सुरक्षित और अधिक विश्वसनीय बनाने के लिए महत्त्वपूर्ण कदम उठाया जा रहा है जो ट्रेनों की गति धीमा कर सकते हैं या उन्हें पटरी से उतार सकती हैं। ये मुद्दे जिसे मुख्य रूप से लेआउट के रूप में जाना जाता है, जोकि एक अपरंपरागत ट्रैक व्यवस्था हैं एवं जो आदर्श नहीं हैं और जिसके कारण देरी, अनुरक्षण में वृद्धि और संरक्षा जोखिम हो सकता है।
इसका समाधान करने के लिए भारतीय रेलवे कर्व्स को सीधा करके, जंक्शनों (पॉइंट्स) को अधिक उपयुक्त स्थानों पर स्थानांतरित करके और पटरियों पर ट्रेन लोड का बेहतर वितरण सुनिश्चित करके ट्रैक लेआउट में सुधार कर रहा है। ये उपाय पटरियों पर पड़ने वाले लोड को कम करेंगे, अनुरक्षण की जरूरतों को कम करेंगे और ट्रेनों को अधिक सुचारू रूप से और समय पर चलाने में मदद करेंगे। भारतीय रेलवे अपनी जीरो-डिरेलमेंट नीति के तहत न केवल मुख्य लाइनों पर बल्कि यार्ड लाइनों पर भी ध्यान केंद्रित कर रहा है।
यह पहल भारतीय रेलवे की संरक्षा, बेहतर सेवा और मजबूत बुनियादी ढांचे के प्रति दृढ़ प्रतिबद्धता को दर्शाती है। बेहतर ट्रैक डिजाइन को लागू करके, संगठन भविष्य के लिए अधिक लचीला और सुरक्षित रेल नेटवर्क का निर्माण कर रहा है।
पूर्व रेलवे के आसनसोल मंडल में इन ट्रैक संशोधनों के दौरान अत्यधिक सावधानी बरती जाती है। वर्ष 2023-24 में रेलवे यार्ड में दो और जंक्शन पॉइंट्स- पांडबेश्वर (80 ए) और भीमगारा (52 ए) में दो ऐसे सुधार किए गए थे। वर्तमान वर्ष 2024-25 में 10 पॉइंट और क्रॉसिंग क्षेत्रों को शामिल करते हुए विभिन्न यार्डों में इसी तरह के चार उन्नयन पूरे किए गए हैं। इन स्थानों में अंडाल जंक्शन, कुल्टी, ईसीएल यार्ड/अंडाल और एम्पटी यार्ड/अंडाल शामिल हैं। यात्री संरक्षा और निर्बाध ट्रेन सेवाओं को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सभी कार्य सावधानीपूर्वक निष्पादित किए गए थे।

*MAKING TRAIN TRAVEL SAFER AND FASTER BY FIXING TRACK PROBLEMS*

Indian Railways is taking significant steps to make train journeys safer and more reliable by addressing issues in railway tracks that can slow down trains or lead to derailments. These issues, known as forced layouts, are unconventional track arrangements that are not ideal and can cause delays, increased maintenance, and safety risks.
To address this, Indian Railways is improving track layouts by straightening curves, relocating junctions (points) to more suitable positions, and ensuring better distribution of train load on the tracks. These measures will reduce stress on the tracks, minimize maintenance needs, and help trains run more smoothly and on schedule. Indian Railways is focusing not only on the main lines but also on yard lines as part of its zero-derailment policy.
This initiative reflects Indian Railways’ strong commitment to safety, improved service, and robust infrastructure. By implementing smarter track designs, the organization is building a more resilient and secure rail network for the future.
In the Asansol Division of Eastern Railway, utmost care is taken during these track modifications. In 2023–24, two such improvements were carried out in railway yards and two at junction points—Pandabeswar (80A) and Bhimgara (52A). In the current year, 2024–25, four similar upgrades have been completed in various yards, involving 10 point and crossing areas. These locations include Andal Junction, Kulti, ECL Yard/Andal, and Empty Yard/Andal. All work was executed carefully to ensure passenger safety and uninterrupted train services.
