भारत का 77वां गणतंत्र दिवस पूर्व रेलवे के आसनसोल मंडल द्वारा सोमवार 26 जनवरी, 2026 को डिविजनल रेलवे स्टेडियम (लोको ग्राउंड), आसनसोल में बड़े उत्साह और देशभक्ति की भावना के साथ मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर, मंडल रेल प्रबंधक, आसनसोल, श्री सुधीर कुमार शर्मा ने राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराया। रेलवे सुरक्षा बल, पूर्व रेलवे भारत स्काउट्स एंड गाइड्स, सेंट जॉन एम्बुलेंस और अन्य भाग लेने वाली इकाइयों द्वारा गार्ड ऑफ ऑनर प्रस्तुत किया गया।

सभा को संबोधित करते हुए मंडल रेल प्रबंधक ने भारत के संविधान में निहित न्याय, स्वतंत्रता और समानता के आदर्शों की जानकारी दी और राष्ट्र निर्माण में रेलवे कर्मचारियों के समर्पित योगदान की सराहना की। उन्होंने इस बात पर ज़ोर दिया कि सुरक्षा, संरक्षा, विश्वसनीयता और बेहतर ग्राहक सेवाएँ भारतीय रेलवे की सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकताएँ हैं। मंडल के कार्य निष्पादन पर प्रकाश डालते हुए, उन्होंने कहा कि वित्तीय वर्ष 2024-25 के दौरान आसनसोल मंडल ने 58.323 मिलियन टन की अब तक की सबसे अधिक माल लोडिंग हासिल की, जो पिछले वर्ष की तुलना में 8.62 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि है। मंडल ने ₹5,690.95 करोड़ का एक ऐतिहासिक राजस्व भी दर्ज किया, जो 10.36 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि दर्शाता है।
मंडल रेल प्रबंधक ने आगे बताया कि अप्रैल से दिसंबर 2025 की अवधि के दौरान यात्री ट्रेनों की समय की पाबंदी में 5.93 प्रतिशत का सुधार हुआ है। उन्होंने विभिन्न रेलवे विभागों के समन्वित प्रयासों से जसीडीह, देवघर, बैद्यनाथधाम और बासुकीनाथ स्टेशनों पर श्रावणी मेले के दौरान लगभग 17 लाख तीर्थयात्रियों के सफल और कुशल प्रबंधन पर भी प्रकाश डाला।
यात्री सुविधा और बुनियादी ढाँचे के विकास पर ज़ोर देते हुए, उन्होंने कहा कि सीतारामपुर, जसीडीह और चित्तरंजन स्टेशनों पर नए फुट ओवरब्रिज चालू किए गए हैं। सड़क अंडरब्रिज और डायवर्जन के निर्माण से कई लेवल क्रॉसिंग गेट हटा दिए गए हैं, जिससे संरक्षा बढ़ी है। मंडल भर के स्टेशनों पर दिव्यांगजनों के लिए सुविधाओं को और मज़बूत किया गया है।
मंडल रेल प्रबंधक ने स्टाफ वेलफेयर, सुरक्षा बढ़ाने, सिगनलिंग में सुधार, स्टेशन रीडेवलपमेंट के काम, एनर्जी एफिशिएंसी के उपायों और मेडिकल इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर के अपग्रेडेशन, जिसमें आसनसोल के डिविजनल रेलवे हॉस्पिटल में सुधार भी शामिल है, के लिए उठाए गए कदमों पर भी ज़ोर दिया। यात्रियों और कर्मचारियों के लिए साफ-सुथरा और हाइजीनिक माहौल सुनिश्चित करने के लिए रेलवे परिसर में नियमित रूप से सफाई अभियान जारी हैं।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान, रेलवे सुरक्षा बल डॉग स्क्वाड के परफॉर्मेंस ने दर्शकों को प्रभावित किया और यह एक मुख्य आकर्षण का केंद भी था। इस मौके पर, श्री प्रवीण कुमार प्रेम, अपर मंडल रेल प्रबंधक, आसनसोल, श्रीमती संगीता शर्मा, अध्यक्ष, ईआरडब्ल्यूडब्लूओ/आसनसोल, अन्य ईआरडब्ल्यूडब्लूओ सदस्य, शाखा अधिकारीगण, पूर्व रेलवे भारत स्काउट्स एंड गाइड्स के वॉलंटियर्स, सेंट जॉन एम्बुलेंस, ईस्टर्न रेलवे हायर सेकेंडरी स्कूल, आसनसोल के छात्र, मान्यता प्राप्त ट्रेड यूनियनों और एसोसिएशनों के प्रतिनिधि, प्रेस और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मीडिया के प्रतिनिधि, साथ ही बड़ी संख्या में रेलवे स्टाफ और उनके परिवार के सदस्य मौजूद थे। बाद में, मंडल रेल प्रबंधक ने ट्रैफिक कॉलोनी, आसनसोल में ईस्टर्न रेलवे भारत स्काउट्स एंड गाइड्स, आसनसोल जिले के स्काउट्स डेन में राष्ट्रीय ध्वज भी फहराया।

*DIVISIONAL RAILWAY MANAGER HIGHLIGHTS RECORD FREIGHT LOADING, SAFETY, PUNCTUALITY AND PASSENGER FACILITIES*

The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour by the Asansol Division of Eastern Railway at the Divisional Railway Stadium (Loco Ground), Asansol, on Monday, 26 January 2026. On this occasion, the Divisional Railway Manager, Asansol, Shri Sudhir Kumar Sharma unfurled the National Flag. A Guard of Honour was presented by the Railway Protection Force, Eastern Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides, St. John Ambulance and other participating units.
Addressing the gathering, the DRM paid homage to the ideals of justice, liberty and equality enshrined in the Constitution of India and appreciated the dedicated contribution of railway employees in nation building. He emphasised that Safety, Security, Reliability and enhanced Customer Services remain the foremost priorities of Indian Railways. Highlighting the division’s performance, he stated that during the financial year 2024–25, Asansol Division achieved its highest-ever freight loading of 58.323 million tonnes, registering a growth of 8.62 percent over the previous year. The division also recorded a landmark revenue of ₹5,690.95 crore, reflecting an increase of 10.36 percent.
The DRM further informed that passenger train punctuality improved by 5.93 percent during the period from April to December 2025. He also highlighted the successful and efficient management of around 17 lakh pilgrims during the Shravani Mela at Jasidih, Deoghar, Baidyanathdham and Basukinath stations through coordinated efforts of various railway departments.
Emphasising passenger convenience and infrastructure development, he said that new foot overbridges have been commissioned at Sitarampur, Jasidih and Chittaranjan stations. Several level crossing gates have been eliminated through the construction of road underbridges and diversions, thereby enhancing safety. Facilities for Divyangjan have also been further strengthened at stations across the division.
The DRM also highlighted initiatives undertaken in staff welfare, security enhancement, signalling improvements, station redevelopment works, energy efficiency measures and upgradation of medical infrastructure, including improvements at the Divisional Railway Hospital, Asansol. Regular cleanliness drives continue across railway premises to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for passengers and staff.
During the programme, a performance by the RPF Dog Squad impressed the audience and was a major attraction. On the occasion, Shri Pravin Kumar Prem, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Asansol, Smt. Sangita Sharma, President, ERWWO/Asansol, other ERWWO members, branch officers, volunteers of Eastern Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides, St. John Ambulance, students of Eastern Railway Higher Secondary School, Asansol, representatives of recognised Trade Unions and Associations, representatives of the Press and Electronic Media, along with a large number of railway staff and their family members were present. Later, the Divisional Railway Manager also unfurled the National Flag at the Scouts Den of Eastern Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides, Asansol District, at Traffic Colony, Asansol.
