RPF/EASTERN RAILWAY SETS AN EXAMPLE OF INTEGRITY

Reinforcing its unwavering commitment to passenger service, integrity, and trust, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Eastern Railway once again demonstrated exemplary honesty by recovering and returning left-behind luggage and valuables worth ₹4,97,520 under “Operation Amanat”.
On 25.12.2025, RPF personnel of Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol, and Malda Divisions recovered lost and unattended luggage from various trains and railway premises. The recovered items included 02 purses, 01 mobile phone, 01 guitar, and 20 bags containing laptops, chargers, mobile phones, clothes, documents, wristwatches, cosmetic items, medicines, and cash amounting to ₹42,005, among other articles.
The recoveries were made from railway premises at Howrah, Bandel, Rampurhat, Ambika Kalna, Sealdah, Bangaon, Kolkata, Dum Dum, Naihati, Jasidih, and Durgapur stations. All recovered articles were handed over to their rightful owners after due verification and completion of documentation. After receiving their belongings, passengers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Eastern Railway and lauded the RPF personnel for their honesty, prompt action, and dedicated service.

It is noteworthy that RPF/Bangaon recovered a bag containing valuables worth approximately ₹2.50 lakh, while RPF/Dum Dum recovered a bag containing valuables worth approximately ₹70,000, further highlighting the effectiveness of Operation Amanat in safeguarding passenger property.
