Eastern Railway’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) continues to strengthen passenger confidence through its highly effective and people-centric initiative “Operation Amanat.” With rising passenger footfall across stations, the RPF plays a crucial role in securing unattended belongings, preventing misuse, and ensuring the timely return of lost items. This proactive initiative has become an essential support mechanism for passengers who inadvertently leave behind their luggage during travel.
On 08.12.2025, RPF personnel of Howrah, Sealdah, and Asansol Divisions successfully recovered several left-behind luggage items containing important and high-value belongings such as an iPhone, smartwatch, mobile phone, laptop, camera, power bank, charger, neckband, original certificates, ID cards, ATM cards, wallet, house key, car key, cash amounting to ₹18,200/-, along with clothes, a sweater, shoes, medicines, and other personal items. The total value of the recovered items amounts to approximately *₹4,24,180* /-.

These items were recovered from Howrah, Burdwan, Nabadwip, Arambagh, Kolkata, Ranaghat, Bangaon, Dumka, and Durgapur railway stations/premises. All articles were returned to their rightful owners after proper verification and documentation. The recipients expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Eastern Railway for the timely assistance.
