67th All India Railway Basketball Championship (Men) hosted by Eastern Railway Sports Association (ERSA) at Eastern Railway Indoor Stadium, Behala, Kolkata from 26th November to 3 December 2024. The concluding ceremony has been held today (3.12.2024) wherein Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway distributed trophies & medals to the champion team members.
Shri Satyaki Nath, Chief Administrative Officer (System) & President of Eastern Railway Sports Association and Smt. Seema Deouskar, President, Eastern Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (ERWWO) also graced the occasion and gave away prizes to the other teams and players showed distinguished performance.
This 67th All India Railway Basketball Championship (Men) is being participated by 20 teams from all over Indian Railways alongwith 262 players, 28 officials, 1 Observer and 5 selectors joining the event. The 20 teams participated in the championship are: 1) Eastern Railway, 2) Integral Coach Factory (ICF), 3) Central Railway, 4) Western Railway, 5) West Central Railway, 6) North Eastern Railway, 7) North Western Railway, 8) Rail Coach Factory (RCF), 9) Northern Railway, 10) Metro Railway, 11) East Central Railway, 12) Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), 13) Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW), 14) South Central Railway, 15) Southern Railway, 16) Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), 17) Northeast Frontier Railway, 18) Research Design & Standards Organization (RDSO), 19) South East Central Railway, 20) Railway Protection Force (RPF).
Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway congratulated Champion teams of the 67th All India Railway Basketball Championship (Men). General Manager also congratulated Eastern Railway Sports Association for organising such a Sports Event of National Level.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Satyaki Nath, Chief Administrative Officer (System) & President/ ERSA said that this event of Basketball Championship is a celebration of talent, team work and the unwavering spirit of sportsmanship within the Railway family.
The championship is just not a competition, but is an opportunity to strengthen the bonds, share knowledge and uplift the standard of Basketball in Railways.
Northern Railway team has become the Champion in the 67th All India Railway Basketball Championship (Men) with a score of 68 points and Integral Coach Factory (ICF) became Runners Up by scoring 64 points. Eastern Railway stood 2nd Runner up defeating Western Railway by 71 : 52 points.
Shri Sehej Pratap Singh of Northern Railway became Man of the Tournament .
