The school’s annual cultural programme, prize distribution ceremony, and farewell function for Class X and Class XII students of Gopinathpur Debayatan Vidyapith, Paschim Medinipur, were held on 28th January.
The grand event, which lasted from morning till around 10 p.m., was truly eye-catching. The programme was presided over by Mr. Kanailal De, the current President of the School Managing Committee. The event was organised under the leadership of the Acting Head Teacher, Mr. Sanatan Sit, with full support from all teachers, teaching staff, and non-teaching employees of the school.
Among the guests present were Mr. Radhanath Sit, Mr. Bijoy Krishna Adhikari, Mr. Sukumar Das, along with several former teachers of the institution. The Officer-in-Charge (Traffic) of Pingla Police Station was also present. The programme was anchored by Mr. Sanjay Manna and Mr. Ramesh Utthasini.
The musical performance by Tapas Manna, a radio artist working at the school, mesmerised everyone. The chief founder of the school was Ushananda Giri Maharaj. The school was established in 1957. At present, around 750 students study here. The school has a very good infrastructure. Every year, students pass with distinction and go on to establish themselves well in life.

However, due to the lack of support from any NGO or government agency for the overall development of the institution, Gopinathpur Vidyapith remains at a standstill in the larger interest of education.
