Paschim Midnapur:”Dantan Clean Village Competition” launched with message of cleanliness; Health Minister targets Trinamool
Staff Reporter, Dantan:Taking a dig at the former ruling party and calling to continue BJP’s victory march for the development of the country and the state, the State Health Minister inaugurated a programme titled “Dantan Clean Village Competition” at Dhui Para School ground, Nilda Gram Panchayat, Mohanpur Block, under Dantan Assembly Constituency on Tuesday afternoon.

Former MP Sisir Adhikari, Egra MLA Dibyendu Adhikari, Dantan MLA Ajit Kumar Jana, Narayangarh MLA Ramprasad Giri, Paschim Medinipur District Chief Medical Officer of Health Soumyashankar Sarengi and others were present at the programme.

Highlighting the importance of cleanliness, the Health Minister said, “You cannot defecate indiscriminately in the name of cleaning your stomach.Soon after, targeting the former ruling party over toilet construction, he said, “The Prime Minister had sent money from Delhi to build toilets in your houses. Not even half of it reached you. If one rupee was sent from there, not even four annas reached you. Why? The remaining twelve annas were looted by the Trinamool Congress.”
He further said, “You are the ones who have changed it, you are the ones who have done it. Without you, there is no Bharatiya Janata Party. So I say, if we want to continue this development, let this victory march of the BJP continue not just in Medinipur but across the entire state.” Referring to the recent by-election, he said, “Today Reginagar has shown that even minorities have chosen the BJP. There is no alternative left.”

It is known that Dantan Assembly constituency is formed with 13 Gram Panchayats from three blocks. The clean village competition started with five panchayats from Mohanpur block, one from Dantan-I block and seven from Dantan-II block. The aim is to build a clean, prosperous and hygienic Dantan.

Speaking at the programme, former MP Sisir Adhikari said, “If we were not there, I am saying emphatically, by now a dozen policemen would have been killed. Five thousand farmers would have been killed.” Turning nostalgic about undivided Medinipur, he said, “Today you may cut Medinipur, make it East or West. Whatever you do, we feel we are people of one family.”
