आसनसोल, 17 मई 2026:
पूर्व रेलवे के आसनसोल मंडल ने रविवार, 17 मई 2026 को सीतारामपुर–जसीडीह खंड में 7 घंटे का मेगा ट्रैफिक एवं पावर ब्लॉक सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न किया। इस ब्लॉक के दौरान महत्वपूर्ण आधारभूत संरचना निर्माण एवं व्यापक ट्रैक अनुरक्षण कार्य किए गए, जिनका उद्देश्य रेल परिचालन को अधिक सुरक्षित, सुगम एवं विश्वसनीय बनाना है।
ब्लॉक के दौरान लेवल क्रॉसिंग गेट संख्या 08 के स्थान पर लिमिटेड हाइट सबवे (एलएचएस) के निर्माण हेतु 12 प्रीकास्ट प्रबलित कंक्रीट बॉक्स तथा आधार स्लैब स्थापित किए गए। निर्माण कार्य पूर्ण होने के बाद यह अंडरपास सड़क वाहनों को रेल लाइन के नीचे से निर्बाध आवागमन की सुविधा प्रदान करेगा। इससे फाटक पर प्रतीक्षा समय समाप्त होगा, सड़क यातायात में सुगमता आएगी तथा रेल एवं सड़क दोनों के लिए सुरक्षा में वृद्धि होगी।
वहीं, विद्यसागर स्टेशन पर नए फुट ओवर ब्रिज (एफओबी) के लिए इस्पात गर्डरों का सफलतापूर्वक प्रक्षेपण किया गया, जिससे यात्रियों को प्लेटफार्मों के बीच सुरक्षित एवं सुविधाजनक आवागमन की बेहतर सुविधा प्राप्त होगी। इसके साथ ही जामताड़ा, मधुपुर एवं सीतारामपुर स्टेशनों पर पुराने एवं जर्जर फुट ओवर ब्रिज गर्डरों को हटाने का कार्य भी किया गया।
ब्लॉक अवधि का उपयोग व्यापक ट्रैक नवीनीकरण एवं अनुरक्षण कार्यों के लिए भी किया गया। इसके अंतर्गत घिसे-पिटे रेल पटरियों, पॉइंट्स एवं क्रॉसिंगों का प्रतिस्थापन, पुलों पर ट्रैक सुदृढ़ीकरण, रेल जोड़ों की वेल्डिंग, महत्वपूर्ण अवयवों की अल्ट्रासोनिक जांच तथा 20 किलोमीटर ट्रैक की मशीनों द्वारा टैम्पिंग की गई। इन कार्यों से यात्रा अधिक आरामदायक होगी, गति प्रतिबंधों की संभावना कम होगी तथा ट्रेनों की समयपालनता और विश्वसनीयता में सुधार होगा।
सभी निर्धारित कार्यों को निर्धारित समयावधि में सुरक्षित रूप से पूरा करने के लिए अत्याधुनिक ट्रैक मशीनों का उपयोग किया गया। इन मशीनों द्वारा अनुरक्षण के बाद ट्रैक को स्थिर किया गया तथा रेल एवं स्लीपरों की लोडिंग एवं अनलोडिंग का कार्य कुशलतापूर्वक संपन्न किया गया।
इस मेगा ब्लॉक के सफल निष्पादन के साथ आसनसोल मंडल ने यात्रियों को अधिक सुरक्षित यात्रा, सुगम रेल संचालन, बेहतर स्टेशन सुविधाएं तथा अधिक समयनिष्ठ रेल सेवाएं उपलब्ध कराने की दिशा में एक और महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि हासिल की है। उन्नत आधारभूत संरचना से रेल परिचालन की विश्वसनीयता और मजबूत होगी, अनुरक्षण संबंधी व्यवधानों में कमी आएगी तथा आधुनिक, सुरक्षित एवं यात्री-केंद्रित रेल प्रणाली प्रदान करने की मंडल की प्रतिबद्धता और सुदृढ़ होगी।

*ASANSOL DIVISION EXECUTES 7-HOUR MEGA BLOCK TO DELIVER SAFER JOURNEYS AND MORE RELIABLE TRAIN SERVICES*
*Major Underpass Construction, Foot Over Bridge Installation and Track Renewal Completed in Sitarampur–Jasidih Section*
Asansol, 17 May 2026:
Asansol Division of Eastern Railway successfully carried out a 7-hour Mega Traffic and Power Block on Sunday, 17 May 2026, in the Sitarampur–Jasidih section to undertake key infrastructure works and comprehensive track maintenance for safer, smoother and more reliable train operations.
During the block, 12 precast reinforced concrete box segments along with base slabs were inserted at Level Crossing Gate No. 08 for the construction of a Limited Height Subway (LHS). On completion, the underpass will replace the existing level crossing gate and enable uninterrupted movement of road vehicles beneath the railway track, reducing traffic congestion and enhancing safety for both rail and road users.
At Vidyasagar station, steel girders for a new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) were launched to provide passengers with safer and more convenient movement between platforms. At the same time, old and deteriorated FOB girders were dismantled at Jamtara, Madhupur and Sitarampur stations as part of station improvement works.
The block period was also utilised for extensive track renewal and maintenance activities, including replacement of worn-out rails, points and crossings, strengthening of track on bridges, welding of rail joints, ultrasonic testing of critical components and mechanised tamping over 20 kilometres of track. These measures will improve riding comfort, reduce the likelihood of speed restrictions and support more punctual and dependable train services.
Specialised track machines were deployed for stabilising the track after maintenance and for efficient handling of rails and sleepers, ensuring timely completion of all scheduled works.
With the successful completion of this Mega Block, Asansol Division has taken another significant step towards providing passengers with safer journeys, smoother rides, better station facilities and more punctual train services. The upgraded infrastructure will enhance operational reliability, minimise maintenance-related disruptions and further strengthen the Division’s commitment to delivering a modern, safe and passenger-centric railway system.
