40th Inter-IIT Aquatics Meet 2026 Held at IIT Kharagpur
The 40th Inter-IIT Aquatics Meet 2026 was successfully inaugurated at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, bringing together talented student participants from 23 IITs across the country for a major inter-institutional sporting competition. Organised through the Technology Students’ Gymkhana, IIT Kharagpur, the prestigious meet is being conducted from 29 September to 4 October 2026, featuring exciting competitions in Swimming and Water Polo.
The Opening Ceremony was held on 29 September 2026 at the Prof. Jnan Ghosh Stadium, IIT Kharagpur, marking the beginning of the sporting event with the participation of students, officials and members of the institute community. The aquatics competitions are being conducted at the Technology Swimming Pool, where athletes from different IITs are competing with enthusiasm, discipline and strong sporting spirit.
The meet provides a significant platform for young athletes to demonstrate their swimming and water polo skills while also promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline and healthy competition among students from different IITs. The event will continue with various sporting fixtures before concluding on 4 October 2026 with the Water Polo Final, Swimming Finals and Closing Ceremony.
The 40th Inter-IIT Aquatics Meet has added another important sporting chapter to the campus activities of IIT Kharagpur, bringing together young sporting talents from across the country on one platform.
