*IIT Kharagpur Launches Director’s Platinum Jubilee Excellence Ph.D. Fellowship to Attract Top GATE 2026 Talent*
Kharagpur, India — Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has announced a landmark initiative under its 75th Year Platinum Jubilee Celebrations with the launch of the Director’s Platinum Jubilee Excellence Ph.D. Fellowship (DPEF), aimed at attracting the brightest minds in the country to pursue advanced research.
Under this prestigious fellowship, candidates securing a position among the Top 50 ranks in GATE 2026 and opting to pursue their Ph.D. at IIT Kharagpur will be eligible for enhanced financial support and a highly enriching research ecosystem. The fellowship offers a monthly stipend of ₹80,000 for the initial two years, followed by ₹90,000 per month for the subsequent three years, subject to fulfilling the Institute’s admission criteria.
This initiative reflects IIT Kharagpur’s continued commitment to fostering a robust research culture and nurturing future-ready scholars capable of addressing complex global challenges.
