On the night of 2nd August 2026, at around 11:00 PM, a heartfelt food distribution initiative was organized to mark the 14th birthday of Adrija Kar, a resident of MEGA GREEN Apartment, Taljholi, near Midnapore Scan Centre, Kharagpur.
Instead of allowing surplus food from the birthday celebration to go to waste, the remaining food was carefully packed and distributed among needy people at the New Bridge Footpath area of Kharagpur Railway Station.
The initiative was made possible through the generous support and cooperation of Mr. Nanda Jana, Mrs. Mallika Sarkar, Mr. Babai Sarkar, volunteers of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, Kharagpur Ambulance Division, and other local residents, who actively assisted in packing and distributing the food.
This thoughtful gesture is a wonderful example of how celebrations can spread joy beyond family and friends by bringing hope and nourishment to those in need. We extend our heartfelt blessings to Adrija Kar, wishing her a life filled with happiness, good health, success, and compassion.
We sincerely encourage everyone to adopt this meaningful initiative. If you have leftover food from birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries, housewarming ceremonies, community events, religious functions, or any other celebrations, please consider donating it instead of letting it go to waste.
