M.A. Rehman Children’s Park has been neglected and in poor condition for a long time. During a recent visit, the park was found covered with excessive and uncontrolled plant growth, leaving hardly any space for people to walk or use it properly. The main gate was also found heavily rusted and in need of repair. This park was built in memory of Late M.A. Rehman, who served as Chairman of Kharagpur Municipality for nearly 20 years.
In light of the park’s current state, an appeal is being made to Kalyani Ghosh, the present Chairperson of Kharagpur Municipality, to take immediate notice and arrange for proper cleaning, removal of overgrown plants and bushes, repair of the gate, and necessary maintenance. Restoring the park.
