आधुनिकीकरण और परिचालन संरक्षा बढ़ाने की दिशा में एक बड़ा कदम उठाते हुए पूर्व रेलवे के आसनसोल मंडल के अंतर्गत दुर्गापुर कोक ओवन प्लांट (डीसीओपी) रेलवे यार्ड स्टेशन पर पुरानी मैकेनिकल लीवर फ्रेम प्रणाली को केंद्रीकृत इलेक्ट्रॉनिक इंटरलॉकिंग (ईआई) प्रणाली से बदल दिया गया है।
पहले, दुर्गापुर कोक ओवन प्लांट पर पॉइंट और सिगनल मूवमेंट से जुड़े ट्रेन संचालन को मैकेनिकल लीवर के माध्यम से मैन्युअल रूप से नियंत्रित किया जाता था। नई इलेक्ट्रॉनिक इंटरलॉकिंग प्रणाली के चालू होने के साथ ये संचालन अब एक विज़ुअल डिस्प्ले यूनिट (वीडीयू) के माध्यम से निष्पादित किए जाएंगे, जिससे केंद्रीकृत और अधिक सटीक नियंत्रण संभव होगा।
इस विकास के साथ एक महत्त्वपूर्ण तकनीकी उन्नयन भी हुआ है : मल्टी-सेक्शन डिजिटल एक्सल काउंटर (एमएसडीएसी) का उपयोग करके गैर-ट्रैक सर्किट वाले हिस्सों को अब ट्रैक-सर्किट वाले सेक्शनों में बदल दिया गया है। यह उन्नत प्रणाली पटरियों पर ट्रेन की आवाजाही का वास्तविक-समय का पता लगाना सुनिश्चित करती है, जिससे ट्रेन परिचालन की संरक्षा और विश्वसनीयता में काफी वृद्धि होती है।
एक अन्य महत्त्वपूर्ण सुधार दुर्गापुर कोक ओवन प्लांट में यार्ड लाइनों से दुर्गापुर की ओर सीधी डिस्पैच सुविधा का प्रावधान है। इस अतिरिक्त सुविधा से ट्रेन की आवाजाही को सुव्यवस्थित करने, परिचालन में देरी को कम करने और समग्र यार्ड प्रबंधन में सुधार करने की उम्मीद है, जो विशेष रूप से दुर्गापुर जैसे औद्योगिक केंद्र में महत्त्वपूर्ण है।
दुर्गापुर कोक ओवन प्लांट में इलेक्ट्रॉनिक इंटरलॉकिंग को अपनाना भारतीय रेलवे के व्यापक मिशन के साथ संरेखित है, जो पुराने मैनुअल सिस्टम को अत्याधुनिक डिजिटल तकनीकों से बदलने के लिए है, जिससे पूरे नेटवर्क में सुचारू, सुरक्षित और अधिक कुशल रेल संचालन सुनिश्चित होता है।
यह उन्नयन आसनसोल मंडल के रेलवे के बुनियादी ढांचे को आधुनिक बनाने और प्रमुख औद्योगिक क्षेत्रों में परिचालन उत्कृष्टता को बढ़ाने के निरंतर प्रयासों में एक और मील का पत्थर है।

*CENTRALISED ELECTRONIC INTERLOCKING COMMISSIONED AT DCOP YARD STATION OVER ASANSOL DIVISION TO BOOST TRAIN SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY*

In a major step towards modernization and enhanced operational safety, the old mechanical lever frame system at DCOP (Durgapur Coke Oven Plant) railway yard station under Asansol Division of Eastern Railway has been replaced by a Centralised Electronic Interlocking (EI) system.
A significant technical upgrade accompanies this development: non-track circuited portions have now been converted into track-circuited sections using Multi-Section Digital Axle Counters (MSDAC). This advanced system ensures real-time detection of train movement on tracks, thereby greatly enhancing the safety and reliability of train operations.
Another key improvement is the provision of direct dispatch facility towards Durgapur from the yard lines at DCOP. This addition is expected to streamline train movement, reduce operational delays, and improve overall yard management, especially vital in an industrial hub like Durgapur.
The adoption of Electronic Interlocking at DCOP aligns with Indian Railways’ broader mission to replace age-old manual systems with state-of-the-art digital technologies, thereby ensuring smoother, safer, and more efficient rail operations across the network.
This upgrade marks yet another milestone in the Asansol Division’s continuous efforts to modernize railway infrastructure and enhance operational excellence in key industrial regions.
