Awareness Program on “Women’s Safety, Fear Free Campus & Anti-Ragging Measures” held at Vidyasagar University
Midnapore, 23rd July 2026: An Awareness Program on “Women’s Safety, Fear Free Campus & Anti-Ragging Measures”_ was organized by the Office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare, Vidyasagar University at B. N. Sasmal Hall on 23rd July 2026, Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor emphasized the need for creating a safe, secure and fear-free campus for all students. He highlighted the university’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and urged students to uphold dignity, mutual respect and discipline.
The Chief Guest, Smt. Papiya Sultana, IPS, addressed the students on various aspects of women’s safety, legal provisions, and helpline mechanisms. She encouraged students, especially women, to be aware of their rights and to come forward without fear to report any incident. The Chief Guest mesmerized the audience with her electrifying speech.
She gave special emphasis to girl students to become self-sufficient in all respects. The students were highly energized and motivated after listening to her address.
The program was also addressed by Mr. Jyotirmoy Ghosh and Ms. Rusita Kar.
The program was attended by Dean, Faculty of Arts & Commerce, Dean, Faculty of Science, Registrar, Dean of students welfare and Chairman of the Anti-Ragging Committee along with faculty members, administrative officials and a large number of students.
