पूर्व रेलवे के आसनसोल मंडल ने स्टेशन की साफ-सफाई, स्वच्छता मानकों और यात्रियों की सुविधा को बेहतर बनाने के लिए लगातार और केंद्रित दृष्टिकोण के साथ मंडल भर के स्टेशनों और रेलवे प्रतिष्ठानों में कचरा प्रबंधन और साफ-सफाई के इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर को व्यवस्थित रूप से मजबूत किया है।
इस पहल की मुख्य बातें:
आसनसोल मंडल के तहत प्रमुख स्टेशनों पर कुल 100 जोड़े स्टेनलेस स्टील डस्टबिन उपलब्ध कराए गए हैं, जिसमें आसनसोल स्टेशन पर 82 जोड़े और दुर्गापुर स्टेशन पर 18 जोड़े शामिल हैं, जिन्हें प्लेटफॉर्म, सर्कुलेटिंग एरिया और प्रवेश-निकास पॉइंट्स जैसे अधिक यात्री आवाजाही वाले क्षेत्रों में सुव्यवस्थित रूप से रखा गया हैं ताकि स्वच्छता और स्वास्थ्यपरक के उद्देश्यों को पूरा किया जा सके।
इसके अलावा, स्वच्छता की सर्वोत्तम प्रथाओं के अनुरूप वैज्ञानिक कचरा अलगाव को बढ़ावा देने के लिए स्टेशनों और यात्री-सेवा से संबंधित स्थानों पर 550 रंग-कोडित हरे और नीले प्लास्टिक के डस्टबिन की व्यवस्था की गयी है।
यात्री सेवा को बेहतर बनाने की दिशा में कचरा प्रबंधन तथा स्वच्छता इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर को और सुव्यवस्थित करने का काम चल रहा है। NSG-2 से NSG-6 तक वर्गीकृत स्टेशनों पर कुशल और सुव्यवस्थित कचरा प्रबंधन प्रणाली को सुविधाजनक बनाने के लिए 2026 के दौरान 700 जोड़े स्टेनलेस स्टील डस्टबिन लगाने की योजना है।
ये आसनसोल, दुर्गापुर, रानीगंज, पानागढ़, मानकर, देवघर, जसीडीह, चित्तरंजन, जामताड़ा, मधुपुर, सीतारामपुर, कुल्टी, कुमारधुबी, बराकर, बासुकीनाथ और दुमका सहित स्टेशनों पर उपलब्ध कराए जाएंगे।
इस पहल का उद्देश्य बेहतर स्टेशन स्वास्थ्यपरक, मजबूत स्वच्छता उपायों, बेहतर सौंदर्यविषयक और जिम्मेदार कचरा निपटान व्यवहार को प्रोत्साहित करके यात्रियों के अनुभव को बेहतर बनाना है।

*ASANSOL DIVISION SCALES UP WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITIES TO IMPROVE PASSENGER CONVENIENCE*
*Cumulative strengthening of station cleanliness infrastructure across Asansol Division*
Asansol, 07 January 2026:
With a sustained and focused approach towards enhancing station cleanliness, Swachhata standards and passenger convenience, Asansol Division of Eastern Railway has systematically strengthened waste management and cleanliness infrastructure at stations and railway establishments across the Division.
Key highlights of the initiative include:
A total of 100 stainless steel dustbin pairs have been installed at major stations under Asansol Division, comprising 82 pairs at Asansol station and 18 pairs at Durgapur station, strategically placed at high passenger footfall areas such as platforms, circulating areas, and entry–exit points to support Swachhata and hygiene objectives.
In addition, 550 colour-coded green and blue plastic dustbins have been provided across stations and service locations to promote scientific waste segregation in line with Swachhata best practices.
Further strengthening of waste management and Swachhata infrastructure is underway. To facilitate an efficient and robust waste management system at stations classified from NSG-2 to NSG-6 with high and medium passenger footfall, 700 pairs of stainless steel dustbins are planned for installation during 2026. These will be installed across stations including Asansol, Durgapur, Raniganj, Panagarh, Mankar, Deoghar, Jasidih, Chittaranjan, Jamtara, Madhupur, Sitarampur, Kulti, Kumardubi, Barakar, Basukinath and Dumka.
This initiative is aimed at improving passenger experience through enhanced station hygiene, strengthened Swachhata measures, improved aesthetics, and encouraging responsible waste disposal behaviour.
Asansol Division places on record its sincere appreciation for the frontline housekeeping staff, whose continuous dedication and tireless efforts form the backbone of maintaining Swachhata, cleanliness and hygiene at stations and passenger areas on a daily basis.
